Fake Magnetic Numbers Geocache

Stuck to an 'official' metal box, fake numbers/lettering can fool the basic cacher for days. The log paper is simply stuck to the back of the magnet.

- Setup Tips-

  • Put it on an 'official' looking object with stickers already.
  • Make it look aged
  • Make sure the object./are is safe for geocachers to prod around at

- Searching Tips-

  • Often there's the magnetic Nanos on these objects, but keep an eye out for this type of hide too
  • Examine stickers to see if they are really magnetic or not when around a metal structure

Gun/Cannon Geocache

A cache hidden on a retired army canon/gun can be  a trick hide. There are plenty of nooks to be elusive in.

  • Find a place hard to reach
  • Use a very strong 'hard drive' magnet to fool hands into thinking something does not come off
  • Paint in the same colour if possible

  • methodically go over every square inch of the gun


Fake Trash/Rubbish Geocache

The Geocaching motto, "Cache in Trash Out" doesn't apply with this cache hide that can stump the best of cachers.

Fake/Decoy Geocache

You don't' have to geocache too long before you can easily spot a pile of sticks at a trees base to know that's where the cache is hidden - or is it?
